Due to the re-stocking of our seawater site at Loch Skipport we are currently looking to employ a Farm Manager and Assistant Farm Manager to deal with the day to day operations on site. The posts will commence in early summer 2013 and the site will be re-stocked in October 2013 with 600,000 Q4’s and will operate with 100 metre plastic circular pens.
Farm Manager – Salary £33,000 - £40,000 per annum
As Farm Manager you will be responsible for the day to day planning, running and reporting of the farm. The successful candidate will ideally have several years’ experience in a managerial role within the aquaculture industry with proven ability for developing site infrastructure and establishing best farming practice.
Essential skills will include a sound understanding of fish husbandry, biology, and welfare. Leadership skills combined with strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and planning skills, as well as the ability to motivate and achieve results through the success of others are some of the attributes also required for this post.
Assistant Farm Manager – Salary £24,700 - £26,947 per annum plus overtime
Potential candidates should possess several years’ salmon farming experience, have a sound understanding of fish husbandry and be conscientious in relation to recording and maintaining reliable data records. Good communication & planning skills and a high degree of computer literacy are also essential. It is also a requirement of the post that the incumbent be an effective deputy for the Manager as and when required.
A driving license is essential for both posts.
