Site Manager, Ardtornish Hatchery, Morvern

16 April, 2008 - Scottish Sea Farms Ltd wish to recruit an experienced Site Manager to take full responsibility for the operation of Ardtornish Hatchery and its associated freshwater cage site in Morvern, Argyll.

Ardtornish is one of Scottish Sea Farms core freshwater production facilities, delivering the highest quality Atlantic salmon smolts to the company’s own marine farms by producing fry and parr. The site is a proven modern tank farm equipped with hatchery, flow-through and full recirculation facilities and production techniques to enable stable egg incubation, start-feeding, grading, vaccination, photoperiod control, on-growing and fish transfer.

The successful applicant will have the ability to establish and develop site infrastructure, manage all incubation, hatching and on-growing procedures, while seeking innovation and always promoting the highest standards of fish welfare and husbandry practice. Additional responsibilities will include a commitment to constantly limiting environmental impact and your role will demand an aptitude to manage the whole relationship of a farm to its local and wider community.
