Hatchery Technician 06 August, 2008 - Inchmore Hatchery We currently have a vacancy for a Hatchery Technician at our hatchery at Inchmore, which is located 10 miles west of Invermoriston. The post would be offered on a permanent full-time basis, working a 40 hour week. This freshwater role is focused upon care of the eggs prior to hatching and also effective fish husbandry of the fry and smolts prior to their transportation to seawater farms. Applications would be particularly welcome from candidates who have some experience in freshwater operations but it is not essential as full training and support would be provided. Beyond the nature of the role, the post holder would be expected to undertake over-time as required in order to accommodate the business needs of the Hatchery and, for the same reason, would be part of the site Alarm Rota which would involve staying in the hatchery accommodation for approximately one week in every 4 weeks.
