New Brand Launched In Argyll

21 May, 2010 -

A NEW seafood firm, Argyll Smokery, is launching in Dunoon supplying produce under the Highland Mary brand.

Karen Baxter and Allan McDougall are to launch a new brand of smoked salmon and seafood named after Highland Mary, the famous sweetheart of Robert Burns, thanks to a £25,000 cash boost from not-for-profit lender, DSL Business Finance.

Baxter and McDougall, who have more than 20 years’ experience in the fish smoking and processing sector, are targeting £400,000 of revenue in their first year by selling smoked prawns, mussels, oysters, clams and scallops as well as traditional hot and cold smoked salmon.
