19 April, 2012 -

MARINE Harvest has announced a number of its results for the first quarter of 2012, which showed that – in terms of volume – its Chilean operations have overtaken those in Scotland.

Harvest volumes in Norway reached 63,000 tonnes, while they reached 10,000 tonnes in Chile, 11,000 in Canada and 9,000 in Scotland. When combined with 4,000 tonnes elsewhere this made for a total harvest volume of 97,000 tonnes of salmonid species.

Operational EBIT for the Group was approximately NOK 270 million in Q1 2012, which was considerably lower than the first quarter of 2011, where it was NOK 963 million.

Net interest bearing debt per 31 March 2012 was approximately NOK 5,950 million.
