Norway: Royal opening at AquaVision
27 July, 2006 -
HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway has agreed to open the global aquaculture conference AquaVision in Stavanger, Norway (25-27 September 2006).
”We are thrilled and honoured. As organisers we have worked hard to make AquaVision an even more important meeting place for decision makers in and around the modern aquaculture and seafood industry. We feel that the Crown Prince’s decision to accept our invitation demonstrates his interest in the industry and the opportunity that lies in farming our oceans,” says general manager Jan Soppeland of BluePlanet. Soppeland heads both the practical preparations for this year’s AquaVision, and the work of the programme committee.
”BluePlanet is a network-organisation and the conference a result of active cooperation. A range of companies and institutions participate, either as partners in BluePlanet or directly as organisers and co-organisers. We have put a lot of thought and effort into the programme in order to target the most important strategic issues for the industry and recruit speakers who can enhance our understanding of them,” says Soppeland.
Twenty-two speakers from 11 nations are confirmed and ready for the podium when the conference starts.
